The Spirit Doll with Lynne Brotman

Make a Spirit Doll that conveys your body, mind, and spirit, using symbolism, colors, and embellishments. Doll-making through the centuries has always been used to help the maker grow and evolve. Express yourself, your wishes, and your feelings through this creative process.
This workshop is designed for ages 18 and older.
The enrollment fee covers attendance at the masterclass. An additional materials fee of $25 will be due at the first class.

About Your Instructor:
Lynne Brotman, BA, MBA, is primarily a fiber & mixed media artist based in Austin, Texas. Her
work has been juried into several exhibitions including "High Fiber" at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, Fiber Art at Poudre Studio and Gallery in Denver, and a solo exhibition at Tokyo Electron’s U.S. headquarters after her completion of a Shibori artist residency in Japan with a Sensei.
Her weaving practice was developed after a residency and apprenticeship in Teotitlan del Valle, Mexico.
Lynne's work utilizes cross-cultural symbolism, especially pertaining to the effects of color and texture on our beliefs and actions. Her work includes journals, spirit dolls, surface design on fabric, deconstructive screen-printing, and carved gourds.
